True story: when I found out we were getting these, I pre-ordered ten!I have an older house, so none of my outlets had built in USB ports. We have about 20 adapters lying around, yet they get moved so often that finding one when my phone is running low on juice becomes a chore.
That's why I love these outlet upgrades! The Dual USB Outlet with Nightlight is a semi-permanent solution to this problem. Not only do they give you 2 USB ports, but they don't take up one of your AC outlets, so you can still plug in appliances, lamps, computers or whatever you want!
And, as a nice little added feature, they even threw in a touch-activated nightlight with three brightness settings. I use these ALL THE TIME to get around at night without flicking on all the lights in my house.
Between my wife and me, we have 2 smartphones, an iPad, an iWatch, a baby monitor, 2 pairs of Bluetooth earbuds, and countless other things that recharge via USB. It's nice being able to plug in any of my devices virtually anywhere in the house.
Now, the reason I say "semi-permanent" is because while you can just plug these into any standard 2 plug AC outlet and call it a day, they do give you the option to remove the outlet plate, plug this in and screw it down so that it becomes a seemingly built-in feature in your home. It's super easy to do, there's no wiring, so I went this route.
If you do decide to just plug it into the outlet as is, there's a stabilization bar that goes into the ground port of the other AC outlet, so it's nice and sturdy!
