How is this different from other fire blankets?

Answer:
As a premium blanket, this model has been made with 100% fiberglass, meaning there are no fillers like silicone added to cut down on the cost. The size of the threads is also fine enough at .9 microns to ensure a tighter woven structure that smothers flames more effectively. This includes electrical fires that cheaper ones can't typically handle.

Isn't fiberglass dangerous?

Answer:
With some cheaper blankets out there, the fibers can become embedded in your barehands to cause itchyness and pain. The higher quality weave of FireGone blankets means you don't need gloves to handle it. That being said if there is any fraying, or scratches that occur on the blanket surface, please exercise caution while using.

Can this blanket be reused?

Answer:
These blankets were designed for single use cases. Extreme heat may damage or weaken the fiberglass threads, causing them to lose their tightly knit structure. This could reduce the blanket’s ability to effectively smother flames or provide adequate protection in a future fire.

Additionally, the material may absorb soot, oils, or other residues during use, which could make it less reliable or even unsafe for subsequent uses. For your safety and to ensure optimal performance, it’s recommended to replace a fire blanket after it has been used on a fire.

Question:
Can you use these to shield you from exiting a burning building or put out clothing fires?

Answer:
Due to the size (40in x 40in) these blankets were not necessarily designed for covering your full body. It can be used to smother portions of clothing fires and in a pinch can help protect you from falling embers during an evacuation.
