They work just like a hand-held screwdriver. Simply the specially hardened head into the old screw and give it a couple taps with a hammer. The tip will cut into the screw head and with a few turns the old screw should come out easily.

Works good but...

It works exactly like it says it does, the only problem I have with it is its too big for a lot of regular screws. What they needed to do was make another one a little bit smaller instead of sending two of the same size. Other than that it works great

Damaged Screw Remover

Works just great! Had embedded screws in wall that would not turn to remove. Used the screw remover and came out in a cinch. Love the product.

Damaged Screw Remover

Many times this has been needed. I have not had an opportunity to use at this time. Im convinced it will be a great help when needed.

Didnt work for me

After hurricane Irma blew through and knocked out my fence I went into repair mode and attempted to use this fancy new tool. Tried it on several different screws that were stripped and I never got it to work. It does make a dent in the damaged screw but I was never able to back the damaged screw out.

It Works

I purposely stripped a screw head in order to give this tool a try. I used a drill with a Phillips screw driver head and stripped the screw head so that it was nothing but a cone. The Phillips head screw remover did not work to well but the flat / bladed screw drive worked like a champ. Keep in mind, I intentionally went out of my way to totally destroy the screw but I was able to remove it without a problem. If you use it once, it is well worth the investment.

Saved so much time and effort!

I love tools in general and picked this up thinking it might be useful one day. Well, we just moved, and this was seriously the best tool in my toolbox -- taking things apart was SO much easier with these tools. And if not for this set, I think I might have given up on getting old, stripped, painted over a million times screws out of windows to put up new blinds in the new place. The one time you need it, it will have paid for itself!
