This light-sensitive, motion activated entry Recording Voice Chime is suitable for use in various locations to announce the entrance of visitors. Just place the unit on a desk, floor, or hang it near and entry or exit and once the sensor is tripped you hear either an audible chime or a pre-recorded message, depending on what you have selected.
The unit detects motion best when someone walks across the sensor, but it will NOT function properly if some walks towards it.
Chime Mode:
To activate the chime, slide the switch up to the CHIME position. The unit senses distance up to 10-12 feet (under normal lighting conditions). Place the chime with a light source in front of the unit.
Recorded Voice Message:
When someone leaves or exits, tripping the sensor, your pre-recorded message will be activated and attracts their attention. To activate the voice mode, slide the top switch down to VOICE. You can record a high quality message up to 20 seconds in duration.
Record Mode:
To record a message move the switch located on the bottom of the unit to 'RECORD'. When the red LED is lit - it's recording! For the best quality playback sound, record your message at a distance of 6" from the built-in microphone. The recording time is 1-20 seconds. When the unit is full, the red LED will turn off. The recording can be stopped at any time by returning the slide switch to the 'OFF' position. Any new message recorded will record over previous ones.
All selections, microphone, and LED are located on the bottom of the unit. Requires 4 x AA batteries (not included). Old or weak batteries may affect the function of the Chime.
