For years I have been using various coffee makers that use K-Cups.
This all changed when I read an article (you can read an excerpt of it here) on why K-Cups are bad. I'll share a few reasons below but it is also interesting to note the inventor of the K-Cups says he wishes he never invented them. That has to do with how bad it is for the environment.
Besides the environmental reasons, you'll be surprised to know that the coffee in K-Cups isn't usually fresh. The containers while many are BPA free many are not and it has glues on them. There are many more reasons but I was shocked to find that by using K-Cups I'm actually paying close to $50 a pound for coffee! Even the finest coffee doesn't cost that much.
So what are we to do? I do love a fresh brewed cup of coffee.
After a couple months of searching and negotiating I am so happy to have this Single Serve Coffee Maker that uses good old fashioned coffee grounds.
